IEEE Bangladesh Section, WIE AG of IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES), Women in Power jointly took the initiative to organize a technical meetup every week engaging the intellectual and inspiring IEEE leaders. The global COVID–19 pandemic has put many countries into lockdown compelling the people to stay inside the home. In this situation the WIE Tech meetup online webinar series was aimed to encourage and replenish the enthusiasm of the participants by introducing distinguished female IEEE Scholars from across the world and sharing their journey of hard work, devotion and success in their research and professional field.
After three successful virtual meetups, the fourth meetup of the session took place on 31st July, 2020. The meetup was attended by a total of 2 speakers, 28 participants and a moderator. The meetup was mentored and led by Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair for IEEE Bangladesh Section, and 2019 Communication Chair for IEEE SIGHT Steering Committee and moderated by Anamika Bhakta, Chair for WIE AG Bangladesh Section.
In congruence with that, the speakers of the fourth meetup - Dr. Celia Shahnaz, a prominent academician and researcher of Bangladesh and Dr. Marie-Luise Wille, leading researcher in biomedical engineering and regenerative medicine in Australia shared their experience and knowledge and motivated the participants for more engagement in technical innovation and research on humanitarian technology development.
