“Workshop on PCB designing using Proteus” ORGANIZED BY IEEE AUST SB and WIE AG, IEEE BDS

IEEE AUST Student Branch in association with IEEE WIE Bangladesh Section organized a workshop on PCB Designing using Proteus on July 22, 2018. The workshop was held under the instructions of Baishakhi Rani Biswas, Lecturer, Institute of Appropriate Technology, BUET and Shoilie Chakma, Lecturer, Department of EEE, BUET and Secretary, IEEE WIE Bangladesh Section with the participation of 47 inquisitive students of AUST.

The workshop started at 4 PM sharp at room 4A04 of the department of EEE, AUST. Baishakhi Rani Biswas gave the participants a general idea about the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and an introduction to Proteus Design Suit. Her session consisted of brief discussions about the implementations and significance of PCB designing. Besides, she also narrated the operations of the software Proteus, which was used for designing the PCB in the workshop.

Shoilie Chakma began her part by showing the students a 555 timer circuit. She helped them design the circuit, apply it in the software, and showed them the various methods of designing it. The instructors rushed to the students who were facing difficulties while designing the circuit. They answered each of the questions of the curious minds individually. They ended the event with a hands-on session to provide the participants with a more realistic learning expereience.

Four Faculty members of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of AUST were present throughout the workshop. Amongst the faculty members, Masoodur Rahman Khan (Counselor of IEEE AUST Student Branch), Silvia Tasnim (mentor of IEEE AUST Student branch) and Kazi Khurshidi Haque Dia (Vice-Chair of IEEE WIE Bangladesh Section and the Advisor of IEEE AUST Student Branch WIE Affinity group) were present.

The workshop concluded at 6:00pm with the closing remarks from Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Mollah, Professor and Dean, Faculty of Engineering AUST, followed by Masoodur Rahman Khan, Branch Counselor of IEEE AUST Student Branch. Later they handed over the tokens of appreciation to the instructors and certificates. The refreshments were given out after taking the group photos, thus commencing the workshop to its conclusion.
