IEEE Student Branch University of Dhaka and WIE Affinity Group IEEE Bangladesh Section jointly organized “Workshop on Structural characterization of Nano-particles using XRD Data” on 6 May, 2018 at Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Dhaka. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Chowdhury, Principal Scientific Officer, Experimental Physics Division, Atomic Energy Center, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission was the speaker for this workshop. After the inauguration of the workshop by the Chairman Dr. Mostofa Al Mamun of EEE Department, participants were introduced to the important applications and research scopes of Nanotechnology. Three important software of material science characterization – ImageJ, Rietveld Refinement Full proof and Vesta were taught in the workshop. This workshop was particularly designed for the undergraduate project and M.Sc. thesis students of material science track. Total 27 non IEEE member, 8 IEEE member and 2 faculty attended the workshop. The three hour workshop ended with token of appreciation giving to the speaker by Dr. Sakhawat Hussain, Assistant Professor, EEE department, University of Dhaka and group photo session.
