Workshop on use of LaTeX

A workshop titled “Workshop on use of LaTeX” was organized by IEEE RUET WIE StudentBranch Affinity Group in association with WIE AG, IEEE Bangladesh Section on 21st April, 2017 at ECE SEMINAR ROOM, ECE BUILDING, RUET.

More than 80 students were present altogether in the two workshops. The workshop was conducted by Shoilie Chakma, Lecturer, Department of EEE, BUET; Treasurer, WIE, IEEE Bangladesh Section and Irtiza Haque, System Engineer, Service Operation, Grameenphone; Professional Activities Coordinator, WIE, IEEE Bangladesh Section.At the inauguration of the event, Professor Dr. S.M. Abdur Razzak, Advisor, IEEE RUET WIE Student Branch Affinity Group was present. He expressed his gratitude to WIE AG, IEEE Bangladesh Section for their assistance. There was then a short presentation on mission and vision of “WIE” which was presented by Azizun Nahar Arju, Student Coordinator of IEEE RUET WIE SB AG.

During three hours long workshop, the instructor introduced LaTeX and its features. After a short instruction about the basics, participants received a strategic guideline about how to write research paper in LaTeX, especially for conferences or journals of IEEE. 40 students including IEEE and non IEEE members participated at the workshop. Participants were provided certificates at the end of the workshop for their participations.
