A workshop on Graphics Designing was held on October 6, 2016 at ECE building in BUET jointly organized by IEEE BUET Student Branch; WIE AG, BUET SB and WIE AG, IEEE BDS. The main goal of this workshop was developing basics of graphics so that participants could get acquainted with this engrossing field and manuals of running some software for this purpose.

This long awaited workshop got huge response from students of different universities. So despite unfavorable weather condition, 107 participants joined this workshop on the scheduled time. Two professional motion graphics designers and entrepreneurs- Zafir Shafiee Chowdhury and Maruf Raihan conducted this workshop as instructors.

The workshop was conducted from 8 am to 3 pm in two sessions. In the first session, instructors introduced to the participants the visual theme of graphics and basics of two software tools- Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. In the second session, the participants could manage to do some basic designs using that software under the guidance of the instructor.

Volunteers from WIE Affinity Group, BUET Student Branch worked enthusiastically in this workshop from morning to afternoon and helped the participants from registration, meal distribution to software installation and setup. Both instructors and participants also seemed to enjoy such a workshop that paved the way of roaming around the world of graphics.

At the end of the workshop, all the participants were given certificates of participation as inspirations. The instructors were also given certificates and crests as an appreciation for their enormous effort. At the end of the day, the workshop on graphics designing was successfully completed which is obviously supposed to encourage all of the impressed participants for exploring more and developing their personal skills of graphics designing.
