Workshop on Web Design Jointly Organized by WIE Affinity Group IEEE Bangladesh Section & IEEE St

On 12th November, 2016, IEEE Stamford University SB WIE Affinity Group in association with WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section hosted a workshop on “Web Design”, at MCL-B Lab of Stamford University Bangladesh. The objective of the workshop was to show the participants how to build a website simply by dragging and dropping several buttons instead of coding. In total 22 students participated in this workshop, out of which 16 were IEEE members. The duration of the workshop was 2 hours starting from 8:30am to 10:30am.

The workshop was inaugurated by a short speech from the event host Mr. Nafiz Imtiaz. The workshop was conducted by two instructors, Miss Syeda Iffat Naz and Miss Nafisa Zarrin Tasnim, Assistant Engineers at Energypac Engineering Ltd. and publicity coordinators of the executive committee of WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section.

At first a brief description about the different platforms that can be used to build a website was given. Later an online platform, www.weebly.com, was used to build the website. The website builder used by the instructors helped the participants to make amazing websites without any coding knowledge. After showing the participants how to build a website, the participants were also asked to make a simple short website to understand if they could grasp the contents well. The participants came up with different innovative ideas.
Dr. Nurunnabi Mollah, Professor, Department of EEE, Stamford University Bangladesh and Industrial Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section came and talked with the instructors, thanked the participants for their participation and emphasized on the importance of IEEE as one of the largest network for electrical engineers.

At the end of the workshop the instructors were handed over crests for conducting the workshop by the lecturer of Stamford University, Miss Sultana Razia Akhter and group photos were taken. The participants were also given certificates for attending the workshop.
