Workshop on LATEX Jointly Organized by WIE Affinity Group IEEE Bangladesh Section & IEEE UIU SB

On June 25th, 2016 from 10:00am to 1:00pm, WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE UIU Student Branch, WIE Affinity Group jointly organized a workshop on LaTeX: Writing Scientific Article, Papers & Journals at United International University. The instructors were workshop co-coordinators of WIE AG, IEEE BD section. Shoilie Chakma, Lecturer from BRACU and Irtiza Haque, System Engineer, GrameenPhone limited successfully conducted the workshop.

In the workshop TeXmaker software with an additional compiling program of MikteK were used. The participants were taught about the TexMaker platform and how it operates, benefits of LaTeX over Word Doc and lastly giving the participants a small task on writing the top page of a simple article with LateX.

The workshop concluded with a small introduction of IEEE COLLABRATEC by Omiya Hassan, Chair, IEEE UIU SB, WIE Affinity Group where she informed the members of accessing online LaTeX in overleaf from Collabratec. The instructors were handed crests and instructor’s certificate from the Advisor of IEEE UIU SB, WIE Affinity Group and Counselor IEEE UIU SB Dr. Tishna Sabrina and lastly the participants were handed out certificates from the instructors. The total participants of the workshop were 25 including 18 IEEE members and 7 non-members.
