1st Workshop on Introduction to MATLAB

WIE Affinity group, IEEE Bangladesh Section organized aworkshop on MATLAB at Robert Noyce Simulation lab, Dept. of EEE, BUET on May 16, 2015. The workshop was inaugurated with the speech of Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section.

The workshop was divided into three parts and was conducted by three instructors named Kazi Khurshidi Haque Dia from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Mohasinina Binte Kamal from Energypac Engineering Ltd and Farhana Broti from Prime Silicon.

The first part was about basic computation of MATLAB and introduction of Graphical User Interface (GUI) using MATLAB and some its applications. This session was conducted by Kazi Khurshidi Haque Dia. The Second phase covered by Farhana Broti was about some more basic computaitons and the last session was on applications of MATLAB in Digital signal processing which was conducted by Mohasinina Binte Kamal.

About 50 undergraduate students (27 IEEE members, 23 non IEEE members) from Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology (BUET) attended the workshop and learnt about MATLAB and its applications. Participants showed their interest in learning about MATLAB.
