IEEE-WIE Membership Development Workshop and Technical Seminar at Stamford University

IEEE Stamford University Student Branch in association with the WIE Affinity group, IEEE BD section organized an IEEE-WIE Membership Development Workshop and Technical Seminar at Stamford University campus on September 22, 2014.

The event was divided into two parts and conducted by Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, BUET and Chair, WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section . The first part was about the membership in IEEE and WIE along with benefits. She showed all past activities of WIE BD to inspire the female students

In the second part, she delivered a technical seminar on “Speech Enhancement based on geometric approach of magnitude compensation and noise driven phase compensation”. She emphasized on the importance of performing first rate original research during the one-year thesis of undergraduate study.

More than 50 students including IEEE student members and also EEE students of the university attended the workshop and seminar. Professor Dr Mohammad Jahangir Alam was also present at the workshop and seminar.
