IEEE WIE Special Session in ICIEV 2014

A special session was organized by WIE Affinity Group, IEEE BD Section on 23rd May 2014 in the 3rd International Conference on Informatics, Electronics & Vision (ICIEV). The session was held at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University.

Four peer reviewed and accepted papers were included in the session. The specialty of this session was every presenter was a female and all the authors of each paper were female engineers and researchers. Dr. Celia Shahnaz (Associate Professor, Department of EEE, BUET and Chair, WIE affinity group, IEEE BD section) conducted the session with a great success.

At the end of the paper presentations, an interactive session was held where the female participants of the session shared their experience about choosing engineering as a profession and for education. They discussed about the obstacles they are facing in studying engineering or doing a challenging job. After this session, this interactive and educative event came to an end. The event was a success with the enthusiastic participation of female researchers from different universities.
