WIE corner at IRC, BUET

During the International Robotics Challenge (IRC), Bangladesh Phase, on November 5, 2012 at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), the Women in Engineering (WIE) corner displayed a continuous slideshow, “WIE at a glance”, featuring the past events and accomplishments of WIE Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section. The WIE corner also exhibited the best research posters in different categories from the 1st WIE research presentation 2011. It was an effort showcase and to introduce WIE activities to many participants at IRC coming from universities other than BUET. The special guest at IRC, Prof. Dr. Sankar K. Pal visited the IEEE corner and appreciated the activities of WIE, IEEE Bangladesh Section in promoting underrepresented women engineers. He also expressed his valuable opinion on the ways to attract more women in engineering disciplines. Dr. Pran Kanai Saha, Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, chair and vice-chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section, respectively and Ms. Urmita Sikder, secretary, WIE affinity group, IEEE Bangladesh Section, were also present during the visit of Prof. Dr. Sankar K. Pal at the WIE corner.
