IEEE Bangladesh Section (IEEE BDS) and IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group IEEE Bangladesh Section (WIE AG BDS), hosted an event on 28th April 2019 at BUET in celebration of the International Girls In ICT Day. The theme of the event was ‘Expand Horizons, Change Attitudes’. An interactive forum was held with three prominent guests- Tamanna Islam from INTEL USA, Farah Tanjeem from Grameen Phone and Mahmuda Naznin from BUET CSE. The guests shared their inspiring stories and experiences with the audience. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, conducted the event.

The event was open for all and was geared towards encouraging women to consider careers in ICT. Given the country’s growing ICT sector, this event was a timely celebration of those already contributing in the sector against all odds as well as a motivation for those who are considering joining the section.
